PurpleMoose prototype

by barbara waters

My first pattern is complete and I’ve knitted up the prototype. Made some changes even as I was knitting - and, I am not totally happy with it yet. Daughter, Ladybug, tells me that I am a perfectionist - and then she asked me for the cloth - nope, not yet. I am still studying on it.
;)

this just shows the color - when I use the flash on the camera the color goes all wonky - so, while the whole pattern doesn’t show very well, you can at least see the moosie’s head here. Cute, huh?

Here’s the whole cloth, including the words. If you look closely (like I do in all my perfectionistic self) you’ll notice that the last “e” in Purple doesn’t have the center crossbar. Yah, I don’t know WHERE my head was when I knitted that row.

Oh . . . maybe I do . . .

I was watching this . . .

Way to go, Sarah! You made Alaska proud last night.

In other news . . . the Big Sock is still in Colorado, but is coming to my house next! I received an email yesterday asking me where all it would be once it arrives in Alaska.

Welllllllll, I’m working on that. I have one place for sure in Anchorage that will host it - the Knitting Grounds will keep it over two Friday nights for their Friday Night Knitting group. Maybe this way I will get to join in on the fun of a Friday night with this diverse group of knitters. (I’m looking forward to that!)

I hope to also have the sock hosted at Far North Knitters for their different knitting groups - haven’t contacted them yet.

Down here on the Kenai . . . there are a couple of places I hope will set up a table for it - and I will be taking it to our Saturday morning knitters to work on as well.

Hey! I live in Alaska - I make my own fun. ;)

About Knitting Passion

Is knitting really a passion? On THIS blog it is - for all who come here. Blog entries will be made up of patterns, photos of in-progress or completed work - off the wall discussions about whatever tickles the author's fancy (Survivor Knitting anyone?). This can be as much YOUR blog as it is the current author's. Questions will be entertained and answers sought diligently. Comments are always welcome - and information ALWAYS appreciated. Will there be stories and pictures of the stash of yarn or the duplicated knitting needles? Will there be more off the wall ideas for knitting? Will there be original patterns or freebies cited? Only the dark of night and the author's amount of caffeine or sleep can determine that.

Ready? ONE - TWO - GET SET - KNIT!
