Purple and Blue

Linda in Anchorage sent me a couple of links recently . . . I love it when folks do that - my daughter sends me links also. What better way to find new blogs than to get them from others who love to read them? Know what I mean? Yup, it’s a good thing.
So, Linda - like lots of other folks - knows that I like purple. If you’ve been reading here for awhile, you’ve gathered that as well.
The blue in the title of this post comes in along with the purple - it’s a link to the Blue Blog . Alison Smith asks her readers if they care for the purple quilt she is piecing for a friend who likes purple. I really like what Alison had to say:
I’m making a quick quilt for a friend of the family who likes purple. I didn’t want it to scream purple - you know how it is when people figure out you like something and then every gift you get is about that and just because you like cats doesn’t mean you want to have cat posters and cat mugs and cat brooches and cat plant holders…
and, isn’t that the truth? I bought an owl something or other one time a hundred or so years ago . . . suddenly I was an owl collector! It happened that way with moose, too . . . but I’m still okay with the moose.
But, I will say this . . . as someone who does love the color purple, those quilt blocks are looking mighty nice. I think she’s on the right track for her friend. I noticed that at least one of her commenters requested the quilt . . . just in case. Hahaha
Thanks, Linda!
