Knitted Wedding

by

Oh, my goodness! A totally knitted wedding - from the invitation . . .

. . . to the eats . . .

. . . to the outfits . . .

It was a day full of fun, friends and family - at least from the look of it.

The lovely couple

invited everyone who could to knit all of the accessories for their wedding gifts - please do go over and read all about it at their page. And, be sure to browse through the rest of their pictures.

It’s definitely a tongue in cheek (British!) wedding.

I love British weddings - attended one in Las Vegas last year - I know, Las Vegas! It was a kitschy Elvis Presley wedding between two online friends whom I had not met before the day before their wedding - in Las Vegas! I am smiling even now to remember it.

Brits seem to be so much more witty - in a backhanded way at times - than we very serious ‘muricans. To go along with the fun, I took them a typically Alaskan wedding gift - moose poop on a stick - swizzle sticks to be exact. Yup, true to form, they LOVED them.

For their first anniversary I sent them mini belly button lint brushes (looked like teeny toilet brushes). Those, they also loved. You see . . . fun. Not the stodginess we sometimes thing of with our forefathers.

;)

by the way - the wedding cake was also knitted.

is that fun or what? The invitation told everyone drinks would be served, but for everyone to bring a picnic lunch as food would all be knitted. Looks like they meant it. Even the knife was knitted.

(some pattern ideas are included on the invitation page.)

About Knitting Passion

Is knitting really a passion? On THIS blog it is - for all who come here. Blog entries will be made up of patterns, photos of in-progress or completed work - off the wall discussions about whatever tickles the author's fancy (Survivor Knitting anyone?). This can be as much YOUR blog as it is the current author's. Questions will be entertained and answers sought diligently. Comments are always welcome - and information ALWAYS appreciated. Will there be stories and pictures of the stash of yarn or the duplicated knitting needles? Will there be more off the wall ideas for knitting? Will there be original patterns or freebies cited? Only the dark of night and the author's amount of caffeine or sleep can determine that.

Ready? ONE - TWO - GET SET - KNIT!
