Fancy a Cuppa?
Finished this last week and took it to my friend Saturday. I also took her the hearts dishcloth that I showed here before. I’ll show you tomorrow the very special cloth I took her as well.
We had a good visit together and with her sister-in-law as we all tried to decide which felted bag patterns we were going to begin. Last winter we knitted sweaters from the same pattern, although in different colors and different yarns. This time we are all choosing different patterns for the bags.
My friend and I will be going to the big city Saturday for some retail therapy and we’ll be stopping by the Knitting Grounds for some yarn. Hope to see you there, Linda! It’s too bad we can’t be there on Friday night for the knitting group. It looks like a lot of fun.
About the swimming, Linda. No, I’m still not quite to the putting my face into the water place yet. Not sure when (or if) I’ll get there.
BUT . . . today I did swim 15 (FIFTEEN!) complete laps in the pool. AND, I swam more than the Ladybug this time. She says the pool was too hot for her to do a good workout, so spent most of her time treading water and talking with the lifeguard.

I kicked her butt, I did, I did.
And, kicked my own in the process. I imagine that I will really feel it tomorrow. Especially because I sat through an 8 hour training on grantwriting after swimming. AND, will sit another 8 hours tomorrow for the end of the workshop - after swimming again.
What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger - right? Right!
And, a reminder to all - October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. My mother was a victim of years of abuse. I work in the dv world now. Someone you know - or maybe you, yourself - has been touched by domestic violence.
Encourage your legislature and governor to provide funding for shelters and recognition of the problem. It may not happen in my lifetime, but wouldn’t it be a blessing to NOT HAVE TO NEED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS???

15 laps!! that’s great. Keep it up. I was in a water aerobics class several years ago and loved it. It was from 6- 7 2 nights a week I did it for a whole winter. But it really cut into my time. Why is it the things that are good for you are the hardest to stay involved with? Oh well, that is except knitting of course. I guess knitting will always be “good” for me because it’s so portable and good mental theraphy .. without sweating.
I’m involved with curves now for my workouts but I find myself finding excuses not to go…(bad me). Hope to see you saturday.
Happy swimming.. and Happy knitting!
Linda

[...] find myself singing Knitting Madonna (Lady Madonna . . .) a version only in my head. You may thank me later for that when you sit down for a cuppa. [...]
