Can’t… start… another… project…
I have tried and tried to read Mason-Dixon Knitting. But I am just so put off by the image on the front cover.
I don’t know why.
But after going through almost all the knitting books available to me in the Public Library, I finally relented and checked this one out. And I have found… I like it. It’s no Stitch ‘N Bitch, but it’s not Knit Socks! either.
The authors are quirky and down-to-earth, with a intimate way of pulling you in and making you feel at home. The patterns are easy, yet look difficult, and more than half of them are pretty cute. I must admit that I was pulled into the love of washcloths myself, and I really like their ideas on knitting with kids.
That being said, I immediately want to go start making dishcloths with the Peaches ‘n Cream cotton yarn I have… but I want to finish this sweater… and can I PLEASE finish at least ONE pair of socks? For anyone? Preferably Claire since she’s been waiting the longest? (More on socks later…)
So I have to wait.
I probably won’t be able to start by the time I have to turn the book back in, but that’s ok. I’ll have forgotten about it anyway. Although, I do still have that cotton yarn in my stash, just waiting to be made into something absorbent… did I mention I’ve never worked with cotton before?
PS: I have a lot of other stuff on my mind, too. Another reason for not starting another project, hmm?

I have made the Kimono Baby Sweater from Mason-Dixon and I loved it. I did it in sock yarn instead of the worsted weight cotton they suggested and it came out so cute.
They have a dish towel knit in linen I would like to make.

Yeah, I got this wild idea to redo my entire bathroom in patterns just from this book… Marie’s too big for the Kimono, otherwise I *totally* would have done that one.
